Sorry that I had not been updating on my wedding preparations.... I was busy sourcing for the Justice of Peace aka Solemnizer for our ROM since as early as February this year. Having search through the forums, I decided to email Prof Yu Shi Ming to ask if he could be our JP for our big day.

MY PRE - WEDDING SHOOTS

Finally!! Some updates regarding my pre-wedding shoot.... After my last trip on my gown selections, I had my shoot on the 23-24th March 2013. We stayed over the night before at a nearby hotel for RM$55 per night as our shoot is over a 2 day period. We reached the BS at about 10am & started the make-up by the MUA, Cherry. So while I am having my make-up done, my HTB was busy with the photographer assistant on his accompanying suits.

MY AD GOWN SOURCING (PART II)

Really sorry for getting this post up so late. As mentioned in my Part I of my AD Gown sourcing, I went to J&L SG Bridal. I tried on their gowns & their price is very very reasonable or maybe "cheap" is the word based on their package. I supposed that in terms of pricing I can't get it anywhere in SG already so that time more or less I kinda confirmed to go with them & Landy's service is indeed very good...

MY PRE - WEDDING PREPARATIONS (PART VI)

Today, we went in to the BS for gowns selection, take measurements & of course, to pay the remaining deposit amount. We reach there about 10.45am after waking up early to avoid the jams at both customs..... They do have a wide selection of gowns there.... but unfortunately, one of the white long train gown was out to laundry... This was recommended by the gal, Lilian & I saw form the pictures it was quite nice...I will gotta come back to try the gown another day...

My New Earrings!!

I was at Plaza Sing yesterday afternoon to take my Note I from the Samsung Service Center & while waiting for the collection, I happen to see a pair of very nice & unique earrings!! The price is reasonable, taking into account the high rentals there...

MY PRE - WEDDING PREPARATIONS (PART V)

We went to JB yesterday & meet my dear photographer friend at the CIQ (JB pick up point) as he will be picking us up from there.I suggest that we go KSL as my HTB friend tell us to recee there as there are many bridal shops - I mean no harm in just asking for the rates rite?

We reach there at about 10am & as most shops are not opened yet, we decided to have breakfast & after that some shopping while looking for the "many" bridal shops as mentioned by the friend. We saw some nice bling bling shoes... priced at RM$189 ~~ equivalent S$80!!! Wow!! That's alot for a pair of shoes that I will most probably wear only twice in my lifetime... the Pre wedding shoot & the AD... Maybe will consider if I really can't find any nice ones in other places.

MY WEDDING EXPENSES

Since my wedding shoot can only be done sometime April 2013 & there's isn't much I can update as I have not really gone for intensive shopping for my other stuffs, might as well I list down some of my expenses for this wedding (excluding the wedding banquet) so that BTBs have an idea of how to plan their finances when everything else don't matter if you're willing to spend! I will be constantly updating this post quite frequently so do keep a look out every now & then! Please also drop comments if you find anything in this blog needs improvements!

MY WEDDING PREPARATIONS!!

With another 295 289 days to go.... alot of my wedding stuffs are pending for the date to be nearer before I can proceed... For e.g, the invitation cards, guest lists/ seating arrangements, Pre-wedding shoot, confirmation of gowns, fitting etc....Even for the betrothal gifts, hubby's eldest bro say to get the stuffs after CNY.. well.. makes sense :)

ACCESSORIES FOR MY ACTUAL DAY

With so much spare time on hand, I went shopping yesterday at Parkway Parade ~~ looking for my BLING BLING shoes!! Saw in other forums that there a is a shop on the 2nd level that sells reasonable bling bling shoes for wedding.Maybe I am fussy on the type of shoes that I will be wearing on that day but nothing really catches my eye in that shop. However, my HTB saw something nice (& not too much blings) & he was quite tempted to get it. Black leather shoes with some blings at the front area - costs about S$119 but he prefer to walk around since our pre-wedding shoots still months away.. keke
Since the dowry by my HTB family decided to get them after the CNY, I wanted to get something for myself too for that day during the tea ceremony.

VENUE FOR MY ROM & CELEBRATION

12 Oct 2012 - We first meet Elieen from Riverview Hotel at BOWS (Blissful Outdoor Wedding Show) at the Dhoby Ghaut Green during their show from 12th - 14th Oct 2012. My first impression of her was that she was very helpful at the booth & neither was she pushy enough to press for a confirmation then - I guess that was just the 1st day of BOWS so she was not that desperate... haha

10 November 2012 - The day finally arrive for me to go in JB with my photographer friend & also to meet Vivian & her friend who own the gown rental business. After a long queue at JB customs, finally I am in his cousin's car at 1130am. As it was close to lunch, we decided to have lunch nearby the area before proceeding to the gown shop. We reached there about close to 1pm but Vivian & her friend, Angeline was already waiting at the shop.

Tried googling for horsey in JB but the only place I can think of is Rider's Lodge at JB. Wrote an email enquiry to them & response came back within a day.  Guess what??!! Their horse for 1 hour rental is at RM$250 nett & inclusive of mounting on the horse!!! Whoo... That is ALOT of savings!!

I always thought it will be easier (& cheaper) to do it locally & I always liked animals especially horses when I am still in school...so I had an idea of getting a horse (YES!! a LIVE horsey) for the shoot... Plus not many of my friends' wedding albums had horsey...so it is quite unique I should say if I had 1 in my album...keke..

With a good friend willing to do my pre-wedding photography, the next thing I need to prep myself would be looking for gowns rental for the shoot.... I think of all things, the gowns part is the most headache portion to me.

Remember in my previous entry that I came across some cheap gown rentals? Well, I had decided to check out the cheapest & most value-for-money. I actually made an appointment to go down to one of them for fitting - I thought... no harm in just trying out the gowns right? since I've already tried 9 gowns at JB without signing anything with them... keke However, this time will be different as my HTB is coming with me!!!

MY INITIAL DREAM WEDDING PLANNING

My initial wedding plans was just to have the cheapest pre-wedding package I can find in the market, have the traditional wedding customary & a simple ROM reception with some close friends & relatives.

But in the midst of finding an ideal location, I found that most special venues have certain limitations. Some need to enagage or source for external florist, catering, or even tentage for outdoor venues. There are no venues that have all these in as a whole package unless we are talking about hotel venues.
